NPWA is a part of your community, and we participate in many municipality-sponsored and charitable events.
The Authority also believes in protecting the community watershed. One of the ways to do this is through properly disposing of household hazardous materials. For that reason, we encourage everyone to make use of the drop-off program location set forth below. . .
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE (HHW) DROP-OFF PROGRAM
When cleaning out garages, basements, attics, or storage closets, help protect the community watershed by properly disposing of household hazardous materials. In Montgomery County, HHW collection sites, which also will accept computer electronics, will be at the following location from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine:
October 25 - Lower Merion Transfer Station – 1300 Woodbine Ave., Penn Valley
Among the products that may be recycled are used motor oil, brake fluid, gasoline, rug cleaner, drain and oven cleaner, dyes, swimming pool chemicals, paint remover and oil-based paint. More information can be obtained by calling the Montgomery County HHW & Recycling hotline at (610) 278-3618, or visit the Waste System Authority website http://www.wsaemc.org/Recycling/images/HHW2008-2pg.pdf to download the 2008 HHW schedule and list of acceptable items flyer or by calling the Authority office.
