The North Penn Water Authority was recently honored to receive the annual Community Award from the Montgomery County Partnership Transportation Management Association (TMA) in recognition of its successful project to replace over one mile of old water main on Main Street in Lansdale Borough last fall. The TMA noted in its decision to give the Authority this recognition that this project was exemplary for the extent of community outreach efforts the North Penn Water Authority undertook to educate and inform the public. This helped to minimize the disruptive impact to the local residences and businesses in the area and kept the traffic delays minor. Anthony J. Bellitto, Jr., P.E., Executive Director for the North Penn Water Authority, stated that, “ The Authority is thankful for the collaboration and cooperation we received from Lansdale Borough, the Public Works Department, the Police and Fire Departments, PennDOT, SEPTA rail and bus, PECO, the news media, the school district, and the local business community. They all did an outstanding job in assisting the Authority and our contractor, Joao & Bradley, to complete this project successfully and on time.”
Mr. Bellitto went on to say that, “The Authority is very grateful to the Partnership TMA for the support they provided to us on this project, and for their recognition in bestowing on us the honor of this annual Community Award. The entire region will now benefit from new, larger water main installed in the heart of Lansdale Borough, which will reliably meet the growing water supply needs and fire protection requirements of the community for many years to come.”
