Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs):

What is the Automatic Clearing House (ACH) Program?|
The Automatic Clearing House (ACH) Program is a convenient way to pay your water bill at no extra cost to you. We automatically draft (debit) the amount of your bill from your bank account.

What are some of the benefits of using ACH?
You avoid late fees, postage, checks, mailing and having to pay in person. It’s all electronic; all you do is maintain a sufficient bank account balance.

How Do I Enroll in the Program?
Contact NPWA Customer Service at (215) 855-3617 to request an application. Then, simply return the completed application with a voided check. NPWA will set up the service with your bank at no charge to you. Please allow one billing cycle to activate the service.

How Much Does the Program Cost?
NPWA does not charge for this service. It’s free!

What is a bank routing number and how do I find out what my bank’s routing number is?
Your routing number is not your bank account number. The routing number is a unique number assigned to each bank. Please contact your bank to find out their number. It can also be located on the bottom of one of your checks.

When Will My Account Be Drafted?
Your bank account will be drafted on the due date that is printed at the top of your NPWA bill.

Will I Still Receive a Bill?
Yes. You will still receive a bill detailing your water usage, amount due and amount that will be deducted. Please keep in mind that this amount will vary for each bill based on your water usage. You will see a note at the top of the bill and on the stub notifying you that you have opted to use ACH payment option and the date the money is scheduled to be withdrawn from your account.

What if my account has insufficient funds?
Please be aware that you will need to have the money in your account the day the withdrawal is made. If there are not sufficient funds your account will be considered delinquent.

What If I Change My Bank Account?
You will need to fill our a new ACH application so we have your updated information.

How Do I Cancel Participation in the Program?
Contact NPWA Customer Service to request a cancellation form notifying us that you wish to discontinue ACH payments. Please note that all names on the bank account will need to sign the cancellation request. Once your bank and NPWA have cancelled the payment option, the automatic payment will not be withdrawn from your account and the message will no longer appear on your bill. You should begin payment by cash or check at this time.

Can I Sign Up to Pay For More Than One Account?
Yes. Please contact our customer service department to get more details on this option.
